More about Windthrow

Windthrow’s artist, Eddie Aaronson, immensely enjoys crafting wooden Judaica. He particularly loves designing with walnut and brass and is captivated by the process loop of sketch, design, create, refine. He works out of his studio in the mountains of North Carolina, running the business with his partner, Becca. They collaborate with local artisans to craft their pieces, sourcing their wood locally from trees that have already been cut down. They donate a portion of their profits to Dogwood Alliance, an organization protecting Southeastern forests.

Needs a 10 cm scroll despite description

Beautiful, easy to attach with great instructions, but my 7 cm scroll is too thick when rolled and the parchment doesn’t fit. The nonkosher scroll it comes with is 7cm and can be rolled tightly enough, but the thicker parchment is too large to sit slightly recessed or flush in the 1/4 inch deep slot. In contrast to the item description, I suspect a 10 cm klaf would be the appropriate choice (if you have that size scroll, which I don’t) — still not too tall for the 4.5 inch slot, while also being potentially fewer rolled layers.
