- Shabbat table essentials
Oneg takes its name from oneg Shabbat, the delight of the day of rest. Founder Jeanie Milbauer, a lawyer by training and the co-founder and founding president of the women's organization Momentum Unlimited, found most Shabbat materials "complex, uninviting or overly prescriptive" when she was raising her children and looking to celebrate. It inspired her to create a simpler path.
Oneg pairs beautiful, contemporary tools with guidebooks and tips so celebrating Shabbat feels accessible, without any pressure. The products are handmade by small businesses and vendors: embroidered linen challah covers in a spread of colors, wood-and-brass candlesticks, and Shabbat sets that bring a kiddush cup, challah cover and candlesticks together.
