The Star of the Seder. Celebrate the beauty of spring and Passover with this vibrant Seven Species Handmade Seder Plate Set by California artist Liz Lauter. Featuring colorful painted designs of Biblical fruits: pomegranates, dates, figs, lemons, grapes, and olives and Hebrew lettering in the plate's large Star of David names the six ceremonial foods for the Seder Plate.
Each plate is one-of-a-kind and uniquely made using traditional Italian majolica ceramics techniques.

Creating Judaica became an expression of Liz Lauter's Jewish roots growing up in multi-cultural San Francisco surrounded by Mexican folk art and Italian culture. She always worked with clay, always painted, and always gardened, so studying
Botany and Painting in college deepened her interests. After her family spent 4 years living in Israel, the Islamic arts and design captivated her. The nature in Israel and its connection to Judaism became another avenue of design for her. It all is woven together in her ceramic “fabric” of Judaica art. Each hand made ceramic piece is unique, using traditional Italian majolica ceramic techniques and hand painted colors over a white glaze. She celebrate all of the irregularities of hand-made-ness as evidence of the presence of the artist.
