This Cylinder Menorah is designed and produced by the Jerusalem artist, Yair Emanuel. Emanuel's designs are based on the combination of the classic and modern motifs. This "old new" design has a base made of aluminum with a matte finish and the menorah itself is made of anodized aluminum. It can be lit both with candles and with oil.

    Yair Emanuel is an Israeli artist who designs and crafts his Judaica in his Jerusalem studio. Born on Kibbutz Sha'alvim, he grew up in Jerusalem in an Orthodox home and later adopted a more pluralistic approach to Judaism. He trained at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, and while studying in Jerusalem he fell in love with the city and made it his home.

    That background shapes the work. His style fuses traditional motifs and ancient Jewish manuscripts with modern and oriental art, and it's easy to spot: vivid, harmonious color and a constant mix of old and new. Scenes of the Old City of Jerusalem recur, as do the seven species of the Land of Israel, especially the pomegranate.

    Emanuel works across painted wood, textiles and metal. That range shows up in hand-painted menorahs, candlesticks, kiddush cups and havdalah sets, embroidered challah covers and tallitot, laser-cut and aluminum pieces, and dreidels, plus playful menorahs shaped like cats and dinosaurs.
