- Hand-drawn illustrated stationery
Sammy Gorin grew up in Hewlett, New York, filling elementary school sketchbooks with Nickelodeon characters. Eventually, as she puts it, the sketchbooks turned into canvases and the cartoons turned into the celebrities and musicians she admired, and that art grew into a stationery and gift brand. She put her own name on it on purpose, so customers know they're supporting an actual person, not a faceless company.
Sammy spent nine years in social media marketing, which explains how quickly she moves. As she puts it, most stationery companies release new products a few times a year, while pop culture moves in real time. She releases new products at least twice a month, and every design is hand-drawn and assembled by Sammy, with no AI involved.
Her greeting cards, stickers, notepads, pen sets and accessories sell in independent shops across North America, the UK and Europe, and at Paper Source, Urban Outfitters, Barnes & Noble and HomeGoods. At ModernTribe she's the reason your desk can say "Oy vey" and your mahjong score sheet gets its own pen set.
