About the brand
Midrash Manicures
Midrash Manicures is Rabbi Yael Buechler's brand of Jewish nail decals, holiday pajamas and accessories, born from a weekly Torah-portion manicure.

- Jewish nail art and apparel
Rabbi Yael Buechler has painted her nails to match the weekly Torah portion every week since 1996. In 2011 she launched Midrash Manicures around that practice, named for midrash, the ancient rabbinic method of interpreting the Hebrew Bible, with the aim of making Judaism both meaningful and modern through creativity.
Her Hanukkah nail decals were sold at Bloomingdale's and Dylan's Candy Bar, and her Torah-and-manicure workshops traveled to camps, schools and college campuses. A Conservative rabbi who studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary, she also taught a Midrash Manicures class at a Jewish day school in Westchester, New York.
The line has since grown into Jewish holiday pajamas for adults, kids and babies, plus socks, cardigans, scrunchies, afikomen bags and even pet bandanas, all built around the Jewish calendar. Her work has been featured in The New York Times and has caught the attention of Jon Stewart and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
