Drawn Goods is the Chicago illustration studio of artist Becca Gore, and it started with a bagel. In 2015, after moving from Chicago to Portland, Oregon, for graduate school, Becca found herself homesick for her Jewish community and a good bagel sandwich. She began painting bagels as a joke and sending them to her sister as greeting cards, then painting food and favorites for friends.
That pastime became a greeting card line. As stores asked for more, her illustrations moved onto ornaments, magnets, stickers, and other small gifts. Each design is first drawn or painted by Becca in her studio. The work runs on what the studio calls "adventures in carbo-loading," so expect donuts, croissants, plenty of bagels, and Jewish deli fare, all in the name of "sharing joy through playful imagery."
Becca holds a BFA from the University of Illinois and an MFA in Applied Craft and Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art and Oregon College of Art and Craft. The Drawn Goods logo is modeled on Gore Supply Co., the hardware store her family ran on Chicago's South Side in the 1950s and '60s.
