Danica Jubilee is the most colorful line from Danica, a Vancouver home-goods company that traces its roots to 1964, when Danica Imports began bringing European kitchenware to North America. Rodney Benson and Jeremy Braude bought the business in 1984 and in 2004 added Now Designs, a kitchen-textile maker founded in San Francisco in 1967.
An in-house team of designers and product developers creates the collections in Vancouver, working with manufacturing partners overseas. Danica describes Jubilee as a celebration of rainbow color, adventures and furry friends. For Hanukkah that means a cotton dish towel with foil-accented dreidels and a set of four dreidel-shaped stoneware dishes for olives or gelt. A share of proceeds from Jubilee's Love is Love collection goes to Rainbow Refugee.
