John and Rachel Kuelbs got going at their dining room table, making wedding accessories and flower girl dresses for an Etsy shop while both still worked corporate jobs. In 2011 the first sale landed within a few hours. After their daughter Mila Rose was born in 2015, a batch of ruffle baby bloomers took off, and by 2017 the couple had a children's line carrying her name.
The twirl dress came from a two-parent brief. Mom wanted something twirly, comfortable and easy to wash. Dad wanted something easy to get on a squirming toddler. So the dresses have a scoop back for quick changes, soft stretch fabric, a full skirt, and pockets, which small children treat as serious business.
Mila & Rose is based in Roanoke, in the Fort Worth area, and sells to boutiques and children's stores across the US. At ModernTribe we carry the Dreidel Darling pocket twirl dress, covered in dreidels, menorahs and Stars of David, sized from 6 months to 10.
