I love our family party. While it often isn’t during the holiday itself due to out of state travelers, we have a huge gathering for the event. 7 households and growing, with 4 under 10 years old and a lotttttt of latkes. It’s my favorite thing all year long. All day event, cooking, cleaning, lighting a table full of menorahs (everyone has thier own), and opening gifts before turning the kids out to play in the snow. It’s the best.
My favorite Jewish tradition started when I was little and now continues on with my 3 young kids. Every year, the first weekend in December we get in our festive Hanukkah pjs, decorate the house top to bottom with Hanukkah decorations and then make latkes. We set up all the toppings and enjoy! We end the night by setting up our menorah display (each kid picks their own) and jelly donuts for dessert.
Making latkes with my family for Hanukkah. 💙
My favorite Hanukkah tradition is lighting the menorah.
I love visiting peoples sukkahs! I love the different ways they’re decorated and just sitting outside enjoying family and friends with some food.
