Kurt Adler was born into a Jewish family in Würzburg and was sent to Manhattan at 16 to escape Nazi Germany. After serving as a U.S. Army shipping clerk in World War II, he began importing, and hand-carved angels from Bavaria convinced him to focus on Christmas. In 2002 Austrian, Swiss & German Life magazine called him "America's Father Christmas." He died in 2004, and the company remains family run, with holiday decor that includes Hanukkah. At ModernTribe you'll find Noble Gems glass ornaments in a Star of David and a Hanukkah snowman, plus an LED gingerbread Hanukkah house.
