More about Barbara Shaw

Barbara Shaw's passion is to artistically present Israel and her Jewish roots in a fresh, creative, and fun way. She loves fusing the ancient with the contemporary. She likes her ranges to have an international feel, yet with a look that says it could only have been produced in Israel.

Barbara grew up in Sydney, Australia and came to Israel in 1986. After searching for gifts and not finding what she wanted, she decided to produce her own. She saw a gap in the market for bold, well designed and packaged gifts; items that are practical and beautiful.

All products are made ethically in her workshop in Jerusalem. Her aim is to touch people's hearts and strike a chord with their heritage and family background.

Shofar So Good Mug

Although it doesn't "sound" when steeped tea is ready, I am not disappointed in any way! What a conversation piece!...I absolutely love the humour, unfortunately (fortunately-depending on half full theorists)... the humour isn't dry with this item! 🤣...unless I'm outta coffee/tea...😐😱🤣👍🏼Thanks again!

A good laugh

Presented to our shofar blower after Yom Kippur's last blast. She was surprised and the audience loved it.

Great mug

I bought this for a friend who can play the shofar. It’s well made and he liked it.

Color Mis-match

The design is very cute. However, unlike in the official photos, the “Shofar So Good” text is a deep burgundy red that does not match the bright primary red of the inside coloring. The mismatch combined with the lack of full wrap for the design (which, in its defense, is visible in the product photos if looking closely) has an overall effect of making the mug look cheap. Am I also the only one thrown by the fact that, to make the wrap work, the design is centered opposite the handle instead of, as is more common, next to the handle? Overall not my favorite of my many ModernTribe acquisitions.
