Liza Shtromberg is a Los Angeles jewelry designer who has been making jewelry since childhood. Born in Moscow, she grew up around the craft: her father was a stone carver who ran an underground jewelry business in Soviet-era Moscow, and she learned to polish amber at age five. The family moved to Ashdod, Israel when she was nine, and by 12 she was working in her father's gallery in Jaffa. At 16 the family moved to Los Angeles, and as a teenager she sold her own designs on the city's streets.
She now runs a retail studio in Los Feliz, where she designs custom and personalized jewelry. Her Jewish work centers on the Western Wall Collection, which she introduced in the early 2010s, inspired by regular trips to Jerusalem to see her mother. Each piece is hand-sculpted with the texture of the Kotel's stones, in forms like the Star of David, chai and hamsa, with Hebrew blessings such as the Sh'ma on some pieces. She later opened a Western Wall gallery in Jerusalem's Old City. Her costume jewelry has appeared on TV shows including The Voice and How to Get Away with Murder.
