Description

Made in Israel, in an all-woman workshop, with love and care.

This contemporary take on the Pomegranate, which is a Biblical symbol of fertility and abundance, will bring a pop of color to every table.

It will heat up your dining table while cooling down your pots and pans! A joy to give and receive. This is a winning gift that is sure to bring a smile to anyone who receives it.

The scarlet pomegranate is one of the seven species of fruits and grains that are indigenous to the Land of Israel. The fruit is said to have 613 seeds, representing the 613 commandments that the Jewish people are to carry out.

The pomegranates that grow in Israel are crimson and luscious. At the right time of year, you will see them piled like scarlet jewels in market stalls and fruit shops all across Israel. The pomegranate is one of the artist's favorite fruits and she feels truly feels inspired by it.

Barbara Shaw wants you to take home a piece of Jerusalem. She grew up in Sydney, Australia, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, and came to Israel in 1986 with training in fine art, archaeology and business. When she went looking for bold, well-designed Jewish gifts and couldn't find what she wanted, she decided to make her own. The first thing she sold was a dishtowel printed with a fig leaf and the verse about each person sitting under their own fig tree.

She started with bold kitchen textiles, one seamstress and her son, who had just finished school. The line has since grown into ceramics, serving ware, glass, stationery, baby gifts, a Yiddish line and t-shirts, all made ethically in her Jerusalem workshop with local designers. Her humor runs through the catalog, from the Mensch Mug to the Kvetch Notepad to the Schlep Tote, and her shop on Emek Refaim Street in Jerusalem's German Colony carries it all.
