Mad Fine is fine jewelry with something to say, designed in New York City by Sophie Flack. Before jewelry, Flack danced with New York City Ballet from 2001 to 2009 and wrote the novel Bunheads, inspired by her years in the corps de ballet.
She founded Mad Fine in 2023 around one question: what if the things we usually keep hidden, like what's tucked inside the medicine cabinet, were worn openly as fine jewelry? She launched on Mother's Day 2023 with designs inspired by abortion pills, cast in solid gold, benefiting the National Network of Abortion Funds. The next collection carved gemstones to resemble widely prescribed mental health medications, with a portion of proceeds going to Fountain House, which works to end stigma around serious mental illness.
The Jewish humor sits right alongside it, in "Oy Vey" heart rings and "Oy Gevalt" and "Bashert" nameplates. Every piece is designed by Flack and crafted by hand in New York's Diamond District in 14k and 10k yellow gold and sterling silver. Mad Fine is woman-owned.
