Description

Jewish joy isn't just a feeling - it's an art form, and this book is the masterclass. From Amanda Kingloff (the creative force behind ProjectKid) and Suzy Ultman (of the beloved Jewish lifestyle brand SUZALEH), The Art of Jewish Joy packs more than 50 fun, easy crafts into one gorgeously illustrated hardcover that walks you through the whole Jewish year, from Rosh Hashanah to Passover.

Draw yourself as a tree for Tu B'Shvat, craft a glowing house lantern for Hanukkah, bake a little calm into Shabbat with homemade challah, or stage a Purim puppet show - every project pairs hands-on creativity with thoughtful reflections on each holiday's meaning. Three sheets of colorful stickers bring the crafts to life, and a keepsake back pocket stores your finished masterpieces.

A perfect gift for families, crafters, and anyone ready to make joy a tradition, year after Jewish year.

More about Suzy Ultman

Suzy Ultman is the award winning author and illustrator behind SUZALEH, a modern Judaica label named for the endearment her grandmother gave her.

Suzy has written and illustrated 18 children's books, including the Jewish board book series she created with RISE x Penguin Workshop and The Art of Jewish Joy with Chronicle Books. Her work runs well past the page into toys, games, stationery and home goods, with more than 100 international product collaborations behind her, from Chronicle Books to Crate & Barrel.

She grew up in Pennsylvania and has lived in Los Angeles, Portland, Amsterdam and Boston, and every one of those places turns up somewhere in her drawing. These days she works from home in Ohio, where a project often starts as a doodle on a Post-it.

SUZALEH, pronounced SOO-za-leh, is her Jewish lifestyle line: contemporary Judaica drawn by hand, bright, warm and a little bit silly. Her guiding philosophy is three words long. Make Time for Play.
