Suzaluna is the studio of Suzanne, a New England artist who hand-paints ceramics and turns many of them into personalized keepsakes. "All of my pottery is painted by hand and made with love," she writes.
She has been making art since she was a very young child. Her grandmother, whom she calls incredibly talented, was her first art teacher, and some of her earliest memories are of that studio, its oil paints and the paintings stacked against the walls. Today her work runs from pottery and jewelry to handmade stuffed animals and nature mandalas, shaped by the things she loves most: the moon, tarot and astrology, animals, and time outdoors.
At ModernTribe, Suzaluna means hand-painted Judaica for the table: a charoset bowl dotted with grapes and apples, apples and honey dishes with bees, a seder plate personalized with a first name, latke plates and platters for Hanukkah, baby plates, and wedding plates with the couple under the chuppah. The personalized pieces are made to order in her Massachusetts studio.
