Lenny Mud is the ceramics studio of Lorrie Veasey in New Jersey, and yes, Lenny is the studio cat. As she tells it, she makes the pots and Lenny breaks them, so she never runs out of shelf space. Her husband helps with packing and shipping; she does the rest.
Veasey works in two clays, earthenware and stoneware, and makes pieces three ways: wheel thrown, handbuilt and upcycled. She decorates with free-hand painting, screened designs and transfers. Everything is lead free, made with non-toxic materials, and safe for the dishwasher and microwave. In her words, it's all made with mud, sweat and tears, mostly sweat.
At ModernTribe the jokes turn Yiddish, with the We Survived, Let's Eat platter, Nosh and Shmutz spoon rests, a Mamaleh ring dish, a Wake Kvetch Nosh mug and a vintage upcycled Nosh plate.
