Modern Bayit began in Melbourne, Australia, with a New Yorker named Danielle, who moved there after meeting her Australian husband and wanted Jewish art for their home that felt modern rather than traditional. Her first design was a "Shalom Bayit" print ("bayit" is Hebrew for home). The line grew to include prints, mugs and baby pieces, plus beaded stretch bracelets handmade in Melbourne that spell out words like Mazel, Ahava, Oy Vey and Mamaleh.
