- Hand-painted illustration on paper
Lana Effron is a native New Yorker whose design career ran from Vogue in New York to Gap, Inc. in San Francisco. At Vogue she worked as a graphic designer by day and painted every night. In 2012 she moved to Denver, in her words for "the man (and mountains!) of my dreams," and started Lana's Shop. She calls herself an outdoorsy mamapreneur.
Everything starts as a hand-painted illustration and becomes greeting cards, gift wrap, art prints, tea towels and even wallpaper, with her paper goods printed and packaged locally. The shop runs on one idea: something handwritten and kind can make the biggest difference in someone's day. During the 2020 lockdowns she painted a set of social-distancing cards and gave a quarter of one card's proceeds to Mile High United Way.
Her Hanukkah pieces are the finishing touches: a hand-painted matchbook with ten painted matchsticks for the candles, and hand-illustrated gift labels. She has designed tea towels for Anthropologie, a Hanukkah collection among them, and created the wedding invitations for Colorado Governor Jared Polis.
