Miriam Merenfeld is an architect turned jewelry designer whose Star of David, chai, hamsa and evil eye necklaces are made in Miami. Born in Venezuela to an architect and a painter, she studied architecture at Pratt Institute in New York, graduating in 1994, and that training still shows in the clean geometry and balance of her work.
Her designs lean into symbolism and spirituality, with personalized initials and Hebrew phrases alongside classic Jewish symbols. Pieces are laser-cut and handcrafted locally in Miami, then finished by hand with gold plating and diamond setting. At ModernTribe you'll find her necklaces and bracelets in sterling silver, gold-plated and two-tone finishes, many with diamond accents.
An early break came through an open call at Henri Bendel, which chose her collection for its year-round trunk shows, and Bloomingdale's followed. Her jewelry has been featured on The Today Show and worn by Brooke Shields, Eva Longoria, Christina Ricci and Jordin Sparks. She also builds giving into the line, including a Bring Them Home tag necklace with 100% of profits donated.
