Description
Crak, dot, bam - if you know, you know. This beginner-friendly needlepoint kit turns the three mahjong suits into a 4" x 4" piece of art in pink and green, printed straight onto the canvas so there is nothing to count. Stitch it between games and give it to the person who runs your table.
The full kit includes:
- 4" x 4" printed design on an 8" x 8" size-13 canvas, edge-taped so it does not need stretcher bars
- All the DMC cotton thread needed to finish the design
- Two size-20 needles and a needle threader

- A 2" x 2" practice canvas to try your stitches on
- Re-sealable Blue Poppy Designs project bag

About the brand
Blue Poppy Designs
Blue Poppy Designs is Amy Shippy's Savannah needlepoint studio, turning her original artwork into modern, beginner-friendly kits.

- Savannah, Georgia

- Printed needlepoint canvases and kits
Amy Shippy grew up on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and came to Savannah in 1992 to study graphic design at SCAD. She has called it home ever since. Needlepoint started as her own hobby before it grew into Blue Poppy Designs, and every design begins as original artwork, with the coastal Lowcountry eye she credits to growing up by the water.
Each kit is made and assembled in her Savannah studio, and they're built for beginners. The design is printed right on an edge-taped canvas, so there's no chart to follow, nothing to count and no stretcher bars needed. The kits at ModernTribe come with the thread, needles, a threader, scissors, a practice scrap of canvas and instructions for the continental stitch.
For ModernTribe she brings that easy-entry approach to Jewish life: a menorah kit, a dreidel kit and a Mah Jongg "Crack Dot Bam" canvas for the friend who runs the weekly game. Amy is a serial entrepreneur who also co-founded Marché de Macarons, and she won the 2019 BizPitch Hilton Head competition.
