Founder Kate Stice Stewart grew up with a family ritual. Every holiday season her dad took her and her brothers to lunch to talk about their mom as a person, and together they picked one extra-special gift for her. It went into a tiny needlepoint stocking her dad called the Bauble Stocking, because in a good year it held a bauble: jewelry.
Kate launched Bauble Stockings in June 2018 to share the tradition. After more than three years of searching, she found Good Threads Needlepoint in Haiti, a certified B Corp, and every stocking is hand-stitched in cotton thread with a velvet back in Jacmel. Many stitchers are single mothers working from home on their own hours.
At ModernTribe you'll find Hanukkah designs: a hamsa, a Star of David and spinning dreidels.
