Becky Reichman loved comics as a kid, even after a middle school art teacher told her they weren't "real" art. That same year she won a district-wide contest with a comic-style drawing. She went on to earn degrees in studio art and art education at the University of Texas and taught elementary art for six years.
When her daughter Natalie was born, Becky stayed home and started making fabric hair bows for her. Other parents kept asking for them, so she started selling them. She also hand-painted a mezuzah for Natalie's nursery featuring Happy, the purple hippo her daughter loved. The business took Natalie's name.
Today Becky makes CPSC-compliant hair bows, some in fabrics she designed herself, and hand-painted mezuzah cases, including custom portraits of customers' dogs. At ModernTribe you'll find her handmade menorah bow headband and hair clip for Hanukkah.
