Description

The Cloisonné Original Ketubah was first hand-painted by Mickie Caspi in 2005, inspired by the luminous depth and intricate beauty of fine cloisonné jewelry. This is a one-of-a-kind watercolor illumination, entirely hand-drawn and painted on archival Strathmore paper.

Rich jewel tones and intricate detailing evoke the look of inlaid enamel framed in gold filigree. The border feels substantial and refined, like heirloom jewelry transformed into fine art. Color is layered deliberately, creating depth and radiance that cannot be replicated by print. The result is both vibrant and elegant, a design that frames your marriage vows with warmth and richness.

This is not a reproduction. Every line is drawn by hand. Every wash of color is applied individually. No two originals are ever identical.

Your chosen text is personally calligraphed by Mickie at the center of the design. It is written slowly and precisely in Hebrew, English, or both, shaped carefully to your names, dates, and selected wording. With more than three decades devoted exclusively to ketubah artistry, Mickie brings an experienced eye to composition, spacing, and the rhythm of sacred text.

A ketubah is often the first work of art you choose together as a couple. An original such as this requires time, focus, and the artist’s full attention to your document. That is what distinguishes it from offset lithographs and giclée prints. It is created specifically for you and intended to live in your home as both sacred contract and lasting artwork.

Multiple traditional and contemporary texts are available, including Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Interfaith, Humanist, Anniversary, and Same-Sex options, allowing the artwork to reflect your values and aesthetic.

This is fine art rooted in tradition, painted by hand, and meant to become part of your family’s story for generations.
