Suzy Ultman is an award winning author and illustrator whose work spans children's books, toys, games, stationery and home goods, all of it drawn in the same warm, playful hand. She has written and illustrated 18 children's books, including the Jewish board book series she created with RISE x Penguin Workshop and The Art of Jewish Joy with Chronicle Books, and she has more than 100 international product collaborations behind her.

She grew up in Pennsylvania and has lived in Los Angeles, Portland, Amsterdam and Boston, and every one of those places turns up somewhere in her drawing. These days she works from home in Ohio, where a project often starts as a doodle on a Post-it.

SUZALEH, pronounced SOO-za-leh, is her Jewish lifestyle line, and the name is the endearment her grandmother gave her. Through it she makes contemporary Judaica that is bright, hand drawn and a little bit silly, with a guiding philosophy three words long: Make Time for Play.
