Jenny Gauthier and Anna Dickson became friends through their daughters, and Jenny had taught Anna's little girl. Jenny trained in architecture and taught art at Southfield School in Shreveport, and Anna was an English professor at Bossier Parish Community College. In 2020, at home in quarantine with four daughters between them, they started pouring resin earrings as a creative project. "They play while we pour," as their About page puts it.
The name comes from a Grease-themed auction party at Jenny's school. Jenny was going as Sandy and asked Anna to be her Rizzo, and Anna said it was the role she was born to play.
They hand-pour resin into silicone molds, using glitter blends they mix themselves, and later added laser-cut acrylic designs to the line. The 2021 Red River Revel was their breakout, turning a side project into a real business with a small local team. At ModernTribe you'll find their mahjong pieces: pastel Bam Bird tile studs and a Joker tile necklace on a gold-plated chain, both made in the USA.
