- On the day of the Yahrzeit, it is customary to light a 24 Hour Candle at home to honor the memory of the deceased. The Jewish Day begins at night, so the candle should be lit in the evening. Even if the candle burns for longer than twenty-four hours, it should not be extinguished. If the Yahrtzeit falls on a Saturday, the candle must be lit on Friday afternoon before Sunset.

It is beautiful and will stay on until all of the hostages come home. It honors all who lost their lives on October 7th, all the IDF soldiers who have sacrificed their lives, and keeping the hope alive for the hostages.

I have had a couple of older Yartzeit Plug-in lights in the past. I live in a very rural area and I can not find any real Yartzeit Candles. My old lights didn’t last or survive the move. I found this one on the website. I ordered it and it came quickly, and I am very pleased with the quality and look it puts out. Well worth the money.
