- Modern mezuzah cases and scrolls
Stephen (Shlomo) Safdeye started checking and installing mezuzot when he was newly married and never stopped. Since he couldn't inspect every doorpost himself, he began selling cases and scrolls to the same standard: every scroll is checked by qualified scribes and certified kosher, and the shop carries endorsements from Brooklyn rabbis.
The cases come from artisans in the U.S., Israel and overseas. ModernTribe carries two of the modern ones: a white concrete mezuzah with a sandblasted wooden shin, designed in Israel, and an onyx-pink marble case with an engraved shin. Both are waterproof and hang with self-stick tape.
