The Jewish Holiday Calendar Reminder

Need a reminder when Jewish holidays roll around? Save this calendar and you'll never miss a chance to plan ahead (or shop ahead).

The Jewish calendar is lunar, so the holiday dates shift each year on the secular calendar. Here are the major holidays roughly in order, year by year:

  • Rosh Hashanah — The Jewish New Year. Apples, honey, shofars, sweet new year.
  • Yom Kippur — Day of Atonement. The most solemn day of the year. Fasting, reflection.
  • Sukkot — Festival of Booths. Etrog and lulav, eating in the sukkah.
  • Simchat Torah — Rejoicing with the Torah. Dancing, celebrating.
  • Hanukkah — Festival of Lights. Eight nights of menorah lighting, gelt, latkes, dreidels.
  • Tu B'Shevat — New Year for the Trees. Plant a tree in Israel.
  • Purim — Costumes, groggers, hamantaschen. The most joyful holiday.
  • Passover (Pesach) — Eight days of seders, matzah, the Exodus story.
  • Shavuot — Receiving of the Torah. Dairy foods, all-night learning.

Set calendar reminders 2–3 weeks before each holiday so you have time to plan, shop, and prep without the last-minute scramble.
