Description

On the eighth night of Chanukah, Grandma Minka reads aloud a story about the meaning of the holiday to Tommy, Chuckie, Lil, Phil, and Angelica. The babies imagine themselves as the characters in the story, but then Grandma stops reading to make latkes, and the ending is left unknown.

Soon they’re all off to the synagogue, where Grandpa Boris is acting in the Chanukah play. The kids, misunderstanding the phrase “the meaning of Chanukah,” believe that an actor in the play is the “meany of Chanukah” and storm the stage to save Grandpa. How will the Rugrats get out of trouble this time? And will they ever learn the true meaning of Chanukah?

This storybook is a perfect blend of silly, sweet, and educational and will make a cherished gift for kids, nostalgic millennials, and anyone who’s ever wondered about the true meaning of the holiday.

A Rug Rats Chanukah

This was the perfect book for my grandchildren. I have a blended family ( hers, his and theirs) with a wide age range from 81/2 to 5 to 4 months. Also an interfaith family so lots of thought has to go into the selection of a family book. This is my families tradition- to give a family book to add to their library of Jewish stories. This Rug Rats book was perfect. My older granddaughter, who is Jewish , read it to her new sister, who is not Jewish. This is helping to integrated the idea of Chanukah into the life of a child who has only know about Christmas. Having a book that one child can read to the other is wonderful. The story and illustrations are fun and perfect for the girls to share. And now this book will part of their library to be read anytime, but most definitely every year at Chanukah.

Great Book

I bought this for my roommate who loves Rugrats and is a librarian. She loved the story and we giggled together over the shenanigans that the babies get up too.
