    It began just after World War II with a small card and havdalah candle delivered to families in the old Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.  A small handful of customers has grown since into one of the the most well known and respected supplier of candles, oil lamps, chanukiahs, and related Judaica in the world. Ner Mitzvah is still family owned to this day and still brings joy and warmth to the Jewish homes around the globe.

    Weak candles

    First, when I ordered these candles I thought that they would fit in my menorah. I was wrong. They were too skinny., so keeping them erect was a problem.
    I should also admit that they did not appear to be the same designs that I remember ordering.

    Wasn’t expecting fluorescent colors.

    If you like the fluorescent colors, then you will love these! A little too bright for what I was looking for.

    Lovely to Look at

    The candles that I received - the outer design flakes off at the slightest touch although pretty to look at. They’re a little too tapered for the menorah that was passed down to me, so the candles don’t stand up without some prop.

    Melted wax makes a MESS!!

    These candles are very fun & pretty, but they are not dripless which makes it very hard to clean the melted wax from the menorah that only gets worse with every added candle each night.
    Finally I just added candles, but did NOT light!
