This seder plate by Spode combines a soft white background with multi-hued, transfer-technique blue glazing. The pattern features intricate flowers and vines, and a centrally placed Star of David, surrounded by the Hebrew words for the items on the seder plate.
    • Material: Fine Porcelain
    • Dimensions: 12.25 inch diameter.
    • Product Care: Dishwasher Safe, Warm Oven Only, Microwave Safe, Freezer Safe
    • The design is based on the signature Spode transferware technique famous in the ceramic industry since the 18th century

It is a sophisticated design, high quality, and has a traditional look. The design is interpreted from historic Jewish manuscripts from the 1800s, which were based on early tile motifs influenced by prevailing Persian styles. They respectfully feature blue and white, the colors of the flag of Israel. The dominant motif is of stylized flowers, and vines interweaved on most pieces amongst the straight-edged Star of David.

    Lovely Seder Plate

I purchased this seder plate and two Spode matzah plates for my table. They are all lovely pieces and helped to make our seder very special. I hope these three plates will continue to be used by my family for many years to come.

It was an added bonus that they were made by Spode, since my parents' dishes were Spode as well. It is a nice remembrance of people who have passed on.
