The Web site development firm that is creating moderntribe.com handed over our "Coming Soon" page this week. When I opened the document in Photoshop, I got a message warning that I was missing a font: DIN Neuzeit Grotesk. Sound German to you? Babelfish translated the phrase for me as Modern Times Grotesque. This news story really caught our attention today- a Montreal court awards money to a family whose child may have had the worst bar mitzvah ever. Vatz up with this billboard advertising American Apparel? The shmatte company sure knows how to get our attention. The Forward reports that This billboard featuring Woody Allen dressed as a Chasid just went up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In Yiddish, it states "the holy rebbe."

Then, it wasn't unusual for me to meet three or four different Internet strangers a week. As a married woman, I sometimes miss those moments of anticipation ("will he look like his picture?"). Now, in pursuit of e-commerce, once again I am chatting with strangers and meeting up for coffee. It's different, but no less exciting. And so far, my business-related Internet hookups have been as...
